ONLY THE PARTITION IS PLASTIC, and i am now going to buy another one for my children.

michelleooi85: the plastic is made from PP 5 which is foood grade and safe to use. This is for partition purpose and not for steaming. The heat retain is based on the double wall isulation and not this plastic partition.

clle: inner pot is 304 stainless steel, plastic casing- PP 5, the maximum heating temperature of the inner pot is very much depends on the food you cook. Its also important not to apply heat to an empty inner pot and make sure not more than 80% full , and it is made in taiwan.
