The concept is certainly unique, because instead of your buffet selection being spread out in one room, your food here is spread out through all four restaurants, which consists of the Club Bar, Planters' Inn, Glass Lounge, as well as the Poolside, and incorporates each of the outlets' speciality ... We then moved on to the Planters' Inn, which was serving local cuisine, and this restaurant fared a lot better. It has one of the largest variety of local food in a buffet I've ever seen. The Hot and Sour soup was thick and delicious, and the really local dishes like Satay and Roti Canai (which I was frankly quite sceptical about), tasted even better than the ones at my local mamak stall. There was also the usual selection of meat, fish, noodles and rice, which I didn't try too much of as I didn't want to spoil my appetite. But the taste and quality of the food here was up to par, and served hot, which I think is one of the key aspects you're looking for in a buffet ... Incidentally, our favourite place turned out to be the Club Bar. I loved the ambience, which was like stepping into an old English gentlemen's club, but the desserts served here were the highlight for both The Husband and myself. It was a good selection of treats, all simply superb in both quality and taste. The cakes were moist and rich, the tarts delicious, and The Husband swears on the Chocolate brownies. He finished both his and then mine, while I sank into the plush leather couch completely satiated and watched in amazement as he went back for thirds ... But overall, it was a good buffet experience mainly because of the huge selection of food offered, most of which were quite tasty.

WHY make do with just one restaurant when you treat yourself to a buffet when there are four options available? Every Sunday afternoon, the Lobby Level of Crowne Plaza Mutiara Kuala Lumpur will be turned into a haven for sumptuous food and beverage delights, allowing I-Hop Sunday Buffet to give guests the chance to dine in all four restaurants when they make a reservation at any of the restaurants. This gastronomic journey starts from Club Bar serving English cuisine, then hop to Planters’ Inn for local cuisines (Malay, Chinese and Indian), followed by a trip to the Glass Lounge offering an array of seafood, Mediterranean and Japanese dishes and, last but not least, savour barbecued meats and seafood at the poolside ... At the launch, many made a beeline for the Australian barbecue corner at the poolside where they took their pick from whole lamb marinated with Australian spice, mini sirloin steaks, flower crabs, tenggiri fishes, and chicken wings ... For fans of Japanese cuisine, take your pick from the array of Sashimi, Nigiri Sushi, Futomaki, Soba Noodles, Yaki Udon (fried Japanese noodles) and Chawan Mushi ... Those who can’t do without their carbohydrates can choose to have Kampong Fried Rice, Prawn Noodles, Mee Rebus with condiments and Chicken Rice. For the young ones, the kids corner offers Mini Sausages, Chicken Nuggets, Fish Nuggets, Fruit Cocktail in Pineapple, Marshmallow, Jelly Candy, and Ice-Cream Cups. The Wild Mushroom Soup is one of the favourite items on the buffet. The tiny chunks of mushroom add texture to the soup that can be either enjoyed on its own or with assorted breads from the Bread Counter.
