Meet Japanese Chef Ricky Hui
Hailing from home ground Malaysia, Japanese Chef Ricky Hui brings with him more than 20 years of experience in Japanese culinary. Heading the team at EYUZU JAPANESE CUISINE of the Eastin Hotel, Chef Ricky has gained local notoriety and respect in a high-profile culinary market. His strong reputation among his peers in the food and beverage industry is further enhanced when he was accorded Winner of the Best Asian Cuisine Chef 2005/2006 platinum award, by Hospitality Asia. To prove that he has what it takes to protect his throne, again, Chef Ricky was awarded the same award for 2007/2008.
Chef Ricky’s love for cooking began at the young age of ten while preparing family meals for his younger siblings. When he turned 17, he took up employment in a Japanese restaurant where he quickly moved up the ranks and was promoted to his first cooking position. Filled with ambition and wanderlust, Chef Ricky moved ahead to what he considered upscale - Japanese culinary cuisine in a hotel setting. He accepted a role as Sous Chef in Holiday Villa Subang at the Sekitei Japanese Restaurant. This was Chef Ricky’s first experience with sophisticated Japanese ingredients and upscale menu items that today have become his signature, such as sashimi and fresh seafood. Chef Ricky then moved on to the position of Chef de Cuisine at Kogetsu Japanese Restaurant in Hyatt Regency Saujana in 1994. Hungering for an even greater challenge, Chef Ricky then had his eyes set on Palace of the Golden Horses’ exclusive Kin No Uma Japanese Restaurant. He sharpened his culinary and creative skills for five years there, creating delicious and decadent Japanese cuisines for guests.

Just fabulous! Every bite was just amazingly treasured and worth every ‘ringgit” spend. . . . .

Led by their award-winning chef, the Eyuzu Japanese Cuisine prepares a sumptuous buffet spread. Right off the buffet spread, one thing worth complimenting is certainly the fresh Sashimi. It consists of raw fish meat sliced into thin pieces. The portion of each slices are pretty generous actually. The never-ending preparation by the kitchen staff throughout the buffet session ensures that the sushi are fresh and at their best.
