The shop is situated in SS2, on the Chow Yang side and used olden everyday stuff cleverly as display. On the outside, a wall is lined with all the newspaper cuttings featuring the restaurant and the chef, Ricky, a successful author of a few Nyonya cookbooks ... Overall I would say that this place exudes a certain charm of homecooked food. And on hindsight, we were all glad that the food we had wasn’t too oily or heavy tasting. Plus the chef/owner Ricky was really quite friendly and obliging which the made the dining experience even more pleasant.

The environments makes you feel you are in a nyonya house and the walls are decorated with Taiping Lake view. The service is good and all the set menu foods are nicely matched. The restaurant also serves good desserts and light snacks if you are not into heavy lunch. Let the waiter/waitress recommend you.

Restaurant Taiping Ho Chiak has nostalgic Nyonya theme with strong Taiping ambiance that reminds me of my childhood days when Dad used to take us to Taiping to visit my aunt ... My hubby loves the food here because it reminds him of his Mum's cooking ... We will definitely make this place our regular eating place as food is good and price is reasonable.

The restaurant is clean & decorated minimally but comfortable ... the other three dishes were all actually very good. I like the service despite lots of people, the serving came fast. Taiping Ho Chiak is one of the restaurant located at the same row Kayu Nasi Kandar Chow Yang. The shop is decorated alike nyonya house and the walls are decorated with Taiping Lake view. The shop serves a variety of nyonya delights ... Nyonya sweet and sour fish is a nice meal. With the fish cut into pieces and cooked with sweet and sour sauce. The fish is fresh and well made with the nice sweet and sour sauce.
