The BKT serves in Wing Hiong is the standard claypot, where everything are mix in together ... A closer look, consist of Pork Belly, Stomach, Ribs, button mushrooms and generous portions of Tau Fo Pok. The soup is good, not too salty and just the right taste and refills are available upon request ... As for me, I wouldn’t mind dropping by sometime again for dinner when May craves for BKT.

Starting off our meal was the mandatory Wing Hiong BKT (RM 12 per person). We savored a mixture of meats and parts of the hog served bubbling hot in a claypot. It was filled with chock full of tender meat, “spare parts”, button mushrooms, beancurd puff and dried beancurd sheet. The crucial soup was braised till medium thick consistency with a dark hue. Flavor wise, the soup had a good body and decent robust herbal flavors ... What’s great about this branch? Great food quality and offers more than just BKT to cater for the whole crowd. Price seems reasonable considering the quantity and quality of the dishes. I already found a few favorites like the Dry Style BKT for the pork and sting ray, Claypot Spicy BKT Lala, Claypot Ginger Wine Chicken and Spicy Pork Stomach Soup. Service was also attentive despite the crowd.

We opt to have the oil rice that night. Fragrant and fluffy, Ethan can eat the rice just by itself! ... I never tried dry BKT before as the only reason I have BKT is for the soup which I usually ask for refills countless times. I’m a soup lover, remember? So having this dry claypot BKT served in front of me is like defeating the purpose of having BKT! But alas, one sip of the thick gravy (yes, though they are called dry BKT, there’s still gravy in it. The gravy is thick instead of the normal herbal broth) and I’m hooked to the tangier taste.

Served pipping hot in claypot, laden bountifully with meats, ribs, “spare parts”, beancurd sheets, beancurd sheets, button mushrooms & vegetables. BKT here was the Hokkien version whereby the soup was in dark hue & thick. Although the soup was thick but the herbal taste was not too overwhelming ... After my 1st tried on dry version BKT, I don’t really care much about the soup version anymore :P (no offense to those who still prefer the traditional soup BKT ya :P ) I love the sticky, sweet & savory sauce covered on every meats in the claypot. Don’t forget the aromatic fried squid which really whet my appetite. Usually I will go bowls of rice just with this!.
