The owners first opened an outlet at Bercham - the land famous for claypot chicken rice, near Ipoh, Perak five years ago, before entering the Klang Valley market in January this year. ![]() Cheerful ambience They insisted certain ingredients, such as the oyster sauce and light soy sauce, must only come from Ipoh as they are of the best quality. ![]() Famous claypot lou shu fan This famous claypot lou shu fan was the soupy version instead of the typical dry one with dark brown sauce. The dish contained prawns, pork liver, minced pork balls, fish cake slices and Chinese cabbage. ![]() The chicken pieces came with generous slices of salted fish and lap cheong – sort of a heavenly, salty Chinese surf-and-turf. The rice itself was perfectly crusted at the bottom of the pot, giving us delicious bits of almost cookie-like crusts to crunch on with the meats.
